Box Score
Throggs Neck, NY – Junior setter Falon Taddeo (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside) fired six aces and dished out 11 digs to help lead the Rams of Farmingdale State over the Privateers of Maritime College in Skyline Conference women’s volleyball action Tuesday night.

The Rams took the first game by a score of 30-12 after freshman setter Megan Cranmer (Hicksville, NY/Hicksville) began a six point scoring streak at 24-12 to take the game. Then the Privateers rallied back in game 2 and had the game tied at one point at 13, but then Taddeo started an eight point run making the score 21-13 and was finished off again by Cranmer. Cranmer finished the day with six aces and eight assists.

The Privateers put up a solid third game putting up 19 points and they found a new weapon in freshman middle blocker Jeanette Golson (Brooklyn, NY/Transit Tech) (Brooklyn, NY/Transit Tech) who had a career high of four solo blocks and quickly began to intimidate the Rams. Freshman outside hitter Brittany McVea (Camillus, NY/West Genesse) (Camillos, NY/West Genesse) had yet another solid game with five kills, four digs and three serving aces.

Next up for Maritime will be Saint Joseph’s-Patchogue on Thursday the 23rd, where the Privateers will look to break their losing streak and pick up their first conference win. That match will be at Maritime and is scheduled to begin at 7pm. Farmingdale improves to 5-3 on the year and remain undefeated in the Skyline 3-0. They will be back in action on Wednesday the 22nd to take on USMMA-Kings Point at home.
